formation guitarist vocalist george and bist vocalist louis formed the band johnson three plus one with older brother tommy, and their cousin alex weir, while attending school in los angeles, california.1 when they became professionals, the band backed such touring rampb acts as bobby womack and the supremes. george and louis johnson later joined billy preston's band, and wrote music in my life and the kids and me for him before leaving his group in 1973. in 1976, the brothers covered the beatles' song, hey jude, for the ephemeral musical documentary all this and world war ii. quincy jones hired them to play on his lp mellow madness, and recorded four of their songs, including is it love that we're missing and just a taste of me. after touring with various artists like bobby womack and billy preston, quincy jones hired them for a tour in japan and produced their debut album look out for 1, released in march 1976 9 us their right on time album was released in may 1977 and reached number 13 on the billboard hot 200. blam came out in august 1978 and reached number 7 on the billboard 200. two of the duo's songs were featured on the soundtrack of the 1976 film mother, jugs amp speed. the instrumental track thunder thumbs and lightnin' licks refers to the brothers' nicknames. get the funk out ma face was cowritten with quincy jones. their popular album light up the night was released in march 1980 and rose to number 5 on the billboard 200. it was number 46 on the "top ltbgt...lt bgt

high quality in june 2006 the band released an itunes exclusive ep of cover songs enled plagiarism. the le is a reference to the fact that four of the ep's six tracks are covers faithful to the original songs. and their first dvd, a short accompanying piece to miss machine enled miss machine: the dvd. summer 2006 saw dillinger touring as support for afi and coheed and cambria. guitarist james love played in the band during the recording of their plagiarism ep. four shows before the end of the coheed tour, weinman flew home for undisclosed personal reasons. in an interview, greg puciato announced that actual reasons for weinman flying home was because of the growing tension between him and chris pennie. the night of august 4, the group played their first show as a four-piece in indianapolis, indiana at the murat theatre egyptian room. according to an article in the december 2007 issue of decibel magazine, during the coheed tour, weinman had briefly quit the band in order to recover from compounding medical and financial problems. during the time weinman was apart from the band, chris pennie received an offer from coheed and cambria to be the band's permanent drummer, on account of their former drummer leaving the band. the band was impressed with pennie after seeing him live, and decided to make this offer. pennie accepted and left the band without a drummer, right before the future recording of ire works. this departure would make weinman the only original member of dillinger escape plan left. however, not long after pennie's departure, weinman returned to the band and gil sharone was hired on drums.

this fantastic favino is a piece of gypsy jazz history it was owned by the legendary rhythm guitarist nous'che rosenberg and used on the ground breaking rosenberg trio recording live at north sea jazz festival. here's a chance to own a guitar that was used on the most influential gypsy jazz recording of the last 20 years in addition to being a celebrity guitar, this favino is also a superb example of jacques favino's legendary guitars from the 70s. this is the only jacques favino i've ever seen with brazilian back and sides the top is spruce and the neck is maple. there is a bigtone pickup installed. the condition is very good with no cracks or other damage. very clean with just a few small dings and minor checking. it has a dr tailpiece and a pristine set of original sb tuners. it is strung with 11 gauge argentines. also, the action is very comfortable at 3.2mm. it plays like butter with no buzzing...an amazing feat for a guitar of this age this favino has a really unique sound it's not super nasal sounding like many of the old favinos are. instead, it has a very thick mid range that produces one of the fattest, warmest tones i've heard in a gypsy guitar. also has some very nice, tight lows that are clear and defined. the high end is very rounded and dark which just adds to the "honey" like tone of this guitar. sounds amazing, no wonder nous'che chose this one the body specs are typical favino: 16 1 2" body with a 4" body depth and a 675mm scale. the back and sides ltbgt...lt bgt
