for the first time ever, the architecture magazine bauwelt has awarded a special prize in its annual compeion to architects rather than a building. and they are: thorsten deckler and anne graupner from johannesburg. they designed an arts center in soweto which was never built due to a lack of funds.but it did give rise to other projects which helped enrich the neighborhood. arts.21 met up with the team in johannesburg.
