a tripadvisor™ tripwow video of a travel blog to sulmona, italy by travelpod blogger surffisher. see this tripwow and more at tripwotripadvisor sulmona, italy "sulmona, italy is the hometown of my great grandparents my father's father's parents and their ancestors. it is a small city of about 20000, located in a valley surrounded by southern italy's highest mountain peaks and three of its best national parks. for north carolinians, i'd compare it most to asheville: in a valley, near some great hiking, and a few hours from a big city. i spent three days two nights here, in a nice bampb-type hotel just outside the city. i had hoped to do some hiking in the mountains, but mostly spent my time exploring the city and connecting with long-lost family. this area generally has cold winters and hot summers, with spring and fall being prime times. i was lucky that the three days i spent here featured gorgeous weather. mostly clear and sunny, with afternoon highs i'd guess around 60-65 f and morning lows around 25-30 f. a big storm moved in on sunday, when i was on the train back out of town toward rome, en route to athens, greece. check out the photo album here and in the next couple entries for photos and some more narrative from this leg of my trip." read and see more at: travelpod photos from this trip: 01-stazione di sulmona - arrival 02-stazione di sulmona 03-map at the train station 04-hotel armando's 05-view from hotel room. 06-another view from the hotel room ltbgt...lt bgt
