as more information comes to light about the gulf of mexico oil spill, another environmental disaster involving oil is emerging. the niger delta receives more oil every year than all the oil spilled into the gulf of mexico so far. to make matters worse, no one even knows it's happening. nigeria is now calling for international law to step in and help them.

nigeria's oil pipes are over 40 years old, corroded, and unreliable. drinking wells are polluted. wildlife has been decimated and the people are dying. another source of leaks is from aggressive rebels attacking oil companies pipelines.
