a tripadvisor™ tripwow video of a travel blog to gangtok, india by travelpod blogger pram-1. see this tripwow and more at tripwotripadvisor goechala p- a trek through the sikkim himalayas "ooh-la-la goechala a trek through the sikkim himalayas the preparation it was a casual reading of an article in the sunday "the hindu" newspaper supplement about the beauty of the yumthang valley about how it is a botanist's paradise and the changu lake that sowed the first thoughts of going to sikkim. there was no idea to make it a trekking trip initially. a colleague's recollection of his trek to dzongri in west sikkim made us think in this direction too. a couple of searches on the internet enlightened us that the trek to dzongri and beyond to the head-spinning goechala p was one of the top treks of the world. even thinking of trekking from 5500feet yuksom to 16500 feet goechala gets the adrenalin flowing. people come from all over the world to make this trip with most of them being europeans. and, majority of them are germans. also, there was the desire to see some exotic places in india too. most of us had done some touring of places in europe on the weekends. t'was time to get back to the roots. why not start with sikkim, so called switzerland of the east by this newspaper article. the article said that it is difficult to tell if some stretches of sikkim is actually sikkim and not switzerland. then started the planning. march-april and october-november were ltbgt...lt bgt
