fresno, ca aug. 16, 2010 - james riley, owner of vintage square in downtown fresno, is often referred to by his customer base as the "vintage king." he received the moniker for owning and operating three quality thrift shops in downtown fresno, each with its own niche as far as what they offer. american vintage thrift, opened in 1996, is known as a typical thrift store with lower-priced merchandise. thrift mart, in the building adjacent to american vintage thrift, was opened years later in 2007, and offers higher-end modern clothing. just months after that, in the front of the same building, vintage voola, a boutique-style shop came along, featuring items from the 1920s through the 1980s.
