over-the-top secret agent action in a ficious caribbean paradise. cia agent rico rodriguez specialises in toppling corrupt regimes, and his latest ignment is the holiday paradise of san esperito. explore over 1000 square kilometers of tropical islands, commandeer 89 vehicles including bikes, cars, tanks, boats, choppers and airplanes, perform wild stunts with your grappling hook gun and parachute, and liberate san esperito from el presidente, general salvador mendoza. a game i enjoyed pretty much. storytelling certainly isn't its forte, regular instant deaths are annoying, car handling is botched, and there are some bad bugs like a memory leak in the pc version. still, just exploring the ficious tropical paradise, performing completely insane and unrealistic aerial stunts, and blowing up lots of stuff is a very nice diversion. the beautiful game world really saves this game from slipping into mediocrity, although a bit more variation here and there would not have hurt either. the video is compiled from the game's cutscenes and attract mode. just cause has been released in 2006 for windows, playstation 2, xbox, and xbox 360. just cause 2 was released in 2010. developer: avalanche studios publisher: eidos interactive genre: action shooter release: september 2006 designed by christofer sundberg, nils gulliksson, and magnus nedfors written by odd ahlgren, matthew j. costello, and neil richards produced by frederik sjoo original soundtrack by rob lord
